in absolute awe of the Zelda:TOTK physics engine. to be completely stable while giving the player ability to create arbitrary constraints is an incredible achievement! also very curious how much it will break at 60+ fps in emulators.

when the #train always stops in exactly the same place, the air conditioner always drips in exactly the same place, and a tiny #ecosystem is born <3

creative people in AI should know the 1954 ronald dahl short story “the great automatic grammatizator” about a writing machine that works faster & better than humans. authors prefer the machine writing and sell their name to the inventor. it’s all there. d-a-v-e.org/wp/wp-content/uplo

it absolutely blows my mind that tripod.com is still around and still hosting for free the website i made on it over two decades ago, subdomain and all.

nyc friends! i am part of the crew organizing an algorave tomorrow night (saturday april 15) at wonderville. we have a killer line up livecoding music and visuals that are broadcast over a pirate TV station onto and as many CRTs as the venue's breaker can handle. its going to be a night of glitchy crunchy analog visuals and its going to be bonkers, come through if youre in town!

ever have a real good idea for a story, start writing it out and realize it's just the plot of 12 Monkeys?

Talking to Daniel about Storyteller was phenomenal. highly highly highly recommend this episode for anyone doing game design or enjoying games

It's RFC 1's 54th birthday! If you were unaware, in 2019 I did a blog-a-day project where I read through and summarized/contextualized each of the first RFCs up through RFC 365.

I even uncovered a lost RFC!

been replaying MGSV and there is an intangible but very present feeling of the Fox Engine adding a certain aesthetic quality to the game. i wonder if Pro Evolution Soccer, which was the only other game (series) developed using that engine retained some of that feeling

yes I use ECS

I don't think we talk about Orthocera enough. Everyone is like "Yeah and then for awhile there were 30ft long squid-like creatures in dunce caps... anyways moving right along..."

And I just want to say "Hold up... HOW long?"

I bet deep in the ancestral memory of the octopus and the deep sea squid they remember... Ancestors. The Pointy Ones.

We need to shut down all evolution until we can find out what's going on!
