rant about ui ux ブーブーブー

Wow what a disappointment. new fitbit app ui is so boring/terrible - not rewarding to look at. like any of the fun that was there has completely been taken out of it. Got a simple monochrome fitbit during pandemic to track/improve sleep/exercise. didn’t want a bulky smartwatch w tons of features. I look at the accompanying app several times a day to check stats. Google bought it 2 yrs ago, has now introduced new dead “minimalist” ui w out access to old ui. Lol nice one.😭

You know those crazy looking motorcycles with the really high handlebars? I think they’re called ape hangers. Well anyways, whenever I see them I’m like, wow my aching back would feel so goddam good riding that thing.

Airbus open sourced their new cockpit font. Make it the default for all your embedded projects, because it's REALLY good and has real testing in difficult environments!

In light of the Oppenheimer movie, I highly recommend reading “Hiroshima” by John Hersey, which was published in the August 31st, 1946 issue of the New Yorker. The whole issue was dedicated to this one story. newyorker.com/magazine/1946/08

How far away is a chilled soup from a savory smoothie?

I like taking screenshots of silly things I see on the internet so I can look at them and chuckle.

I haven’t read a lot about the Oppenheimer movie or seen its trailer but please tell me it’s an anti (nuclear) war movie.

It’s summer time here so fireworks season! But not the big scary boom kind like in the US but rather cute, calm fireworks variety packs at the local convenience store.✨ Loved this as a kid and maybe also an adult. Happey Hanabi Memorys🙂

did you notice that if you say the word “threads” in a whisper it sounds like “threats” im just saying

Another game I really enjoyed that came out of the whole wordle trend of minimalist web puzzles is semantle.com/ which used to be even more minimalist when it first came out. I got soooo addicted to it.

This is so goddam good neal.fun/password-game/ this is the kind of game I don’t mind being addicted to ok.

Mentaiko spaghetti

Surprised and excited and admittedly a bit horrified to see an all time favorite dish Mentaiko Spaghetti in a nytimes food article. I know it’s just an interpretation of the dish but… anyways, here’s an image from it cause it’s paywalled.
