Are businesses named acme exclusively for old cartoons? I thought it was like a generic american business name. Like the foobar of American entrepreneurialship basically.
@n1ckfg that was my understanding but I wasn’t sure. Like I didn’t think it was just road runner cartoons. As a kid one time I looked it up in the phone book and there were so many acme businesses! I chuckled but was also confused.
@kaho Seems like before Looney Tunes made it famous, generic "ACME" product branding on film props was a lowkey tradition from the silent era, kind of like nonfunctional "555" phone numbers on TV later on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acme_Corporation
