a challenge with making a "soft tv" in glsl is the high frequencies involved in ntsc, which makes recreating an actual analog signal digitally prohibitive...

what i want to do is take an RGB image and turn that into a spectrogram of what the equivalent ntsc signal would have been -- basically "jumping ahead" to usable data past signal generation and FFTing. this may be impossible, i am not sure.

at 7Mhz thats ~0.9Mb/frame, ~27Mb/second. those aren't... impossible numbers, but that's sequential processing i would have to do on the cpu. maybe this whole thing is written in rust or something.
